Words cannot express my reaction upon hearing one Tory MP blame the government for being caught out abusing his expenses. When questioned by BBC Radio, the MP said, "“ I think I behaved, if I may say so, impeccably. I have done nothing criminal. That is the most awful thing. Do you know what it’s about – jealousy. I have a very, very large house.”" "This was a failure on my part. We have a wretched government here that has completely mucked up the system and caused the resignation of me and many others. It was this Government that introduced the Freedom of Information Act and it was this Government that has insisted for things which has actually caught me on the wrong foot, which , if I had been cleverer, it wouldn't have done." He seriously thinks his error was getting caught, NOT abusing expenses. Incredible. |
