Sadiq celebrates 60th anniversary of NHS with Tooting volunteers...

To mark Volunteers Week and also the 60th anniversary of the founding of the National Heath Service, Sadiq Khan MP took three volunteers from local health services to Downing Street to meet the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, held a special reception for NHS volunteers to thank them for their commitment and generosity.  The volunteers were personally thanked by Gordon Brown and Sarah Brown and the Health Minister Ann Keen.

Sadiq’s guests for the reception were Daniel Blagdon from Millennium Volunteers Wandsworth, Kiron Kurien, a member of numerous local patient liaison groups including Expert Patients Programme (EPP) and Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) Steering Group for Wandsworth PCT and Chris Lewis, a “buddy” and fundraiser for St George’s Hospital.
