Wandsworth Council plans to ban dogs from local parks and to force dog owners to keep their dogs on leads on all public footways and highways. The consultation on these proposals ends this Friday despite many dog owners being unaware of the plans and not having had their say.
Dogs would be required to be on a lead on all public footways including the riverside walk and on all highways. The consultation will finish on Friday 8 May. Any representations regarding these proposed orders must be sent in writing by the closing date, either by email to: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Many local dog owners also have concerns that their dogs’ welfare will be compromised as, according to the Pet Health Council, many breeds need to be exercised regularly off the lead. 1.)
