Sadiq’s been campaigning on Climate Change for a long time, urging the Government to take tough domestic and international action to combat dangerous greenhouse gas emissions.
He was really pleased when Britain became the first country in the world to put carbon reduction emissions into law meaning the UK must reduce its emissions by 80% by 2050. He’s also glad that the Government is taking the upcoming Copenhagen Conference so seriously and is already working hard to make sure we reach a strong agreement.
But he realises Government can’t do everything and that we all have to take personal responsibility. That’s why he’s signed up to the 10:10 campaign, personally pledging to cut his emissions by 10% in 2010 by making simple changes to his lifestyle, home and workplace.
Sadiq believes that if we all make small changes to our lives and the Government continues working so hard to reduce emissions, together we can beat climate change.
