At every level of government Sadiq is committed to tackling climate change and global warming. Below is a guide to help show you what action Sadiq is taking at an individual, constituency, national and international level:

Individual - Sadiq has signed up to the 10:10 pledge – part of a national campaign to encourage people throughout the UK to cut their carbon emissions by 10% by the end of 2010. The idea is based on everyone working to reduce their own carbon footprint both in the home and in the workplace. Sadiq has also set up the Tidy up Tooting campaign with local residents, who are frustrated at the growth of problems such as fly-tipping and littering in the local area.

Local - Since becoming an MP in 2005, Sadiq has campaigned for Wandsworth Council to improve and re-evaluate their recycling schemes in Tooting - as well as working with local residents' groups - so that everyone in the community can recognise that real change is possible.

National - As a Minister of State for Transport, Sadiq continually affirms the need of cutting emissions and ensuring a low carbon future at a national level...particularly if we are to achieve a sustainable future for our economy. That’s why Sadiq is proud to be involved in the implementation of the Government’s low carbon transition plan. This plan seeks to reduce carbon emissions by 14% over the next 10 years.

International - Sadiq has asked David Miliband, the Foreign Secretary, to ensure that climate change is at the top of the global political agenda during the UK’s presidency of the U.N Security Council.
