 The proposed re-development of the Springfield Hospital site will have

people who moved to streets bordering the site rightly have serious
concerns about the impact the construction work (which may last 10
years) and new development will have on their lives.
This is a
major development and it is absolutely vital that local residents are
listened to and their views respected by the developers and Wandsworth
Council throughout the planning process and, if the plans are approved,
the construction process.
Sadiq has been working tirelessly to
represent the views of all the residents living around and near the
site are made clear to the developers and Wandsworth Council and are
listened to.

Sadiq has been working tirelessly to represent the views of all the residents living around and near the site are made clear to the developers and listened to.
What has Sadiq done so far?
- Conducted a consultation of over 3700 local residents on the original outline plans which achieved real change. The response, in which 96% of respondents opposed the plans, led to considerable reductions in the proposed heights of buildings and the number of units planned.
- Informed residents every step of the way. Over the summer Sadiq wrote to 11,000 Tooting residents to tell them about the plans to develop the 80 acre site at Springfield Hospital. Sadiq has also sent out regular email updates and letters to thousands of residents and will be running a public meeting in the New Year to discuss the development.
- Met regularly with the developers. Sadiq has been in regular contact with the developers allowing him to effectively convey the concerns of local residents and represent them more effectively.
- Succesfully lobbied Wandsworth Council to considerably increase the length of the public consultation. The public consultation will run from December to March - at least double the length of a normal public consultation on a planning application.
