| Senior Met Officers face misconduct panel over Kirk Reid investgation |

A report by the Independent Police Complaints Commission has heavily criticised senior police officers operating as part of Wandsworth's Sapphire Unit, who were charged with investigating sex attacks between January 2003 and January 2008. The IPCC report heavily criticises the investigation of a series of attacks by Kirk Reid, who was eventually convicted of 27 sexual offences and linked to a further 80-100 sexual assaults. Sadiq Khan MP said, "The IPCC report will be of no comfort to the women who were victims of Kirk Reid. You can read the press release from the IPCC here, and the full report here.
