The Department for Education has confirmed that Burntwood School's Building Schools for the Future programme will still go ahead, despite cuts to education funding which have led to the cancellation of projects at Graveney, Ernest Bevin and Chestnut Grove. In July Sadiq held a last-ditch meeting with Lord Hill, the schools minister, the Principal and Chair of Governors of Burntwood School and Wandsworth Council councillors and officials to put the case for Burntwood's rebuilding programme.
