![]() The application to re-develop Springfield Hospital was rejected earlier this evening by Wandsworth Council's Planning Application Committee. Over 300 residents and campaigners, including Sadiq Khan and Tooting Councillors Sheila Boswell, James Daley and Ben Johnson, attended the meeting to speak up against the development and ensure councillors sitting on the committee were fully aware of the strength of local opposition to these plans, which were unanimously rejected by the committee.
Sadiq has now written to the Chief Executive of Springfield Hospital asking her not to appeal the decision, and to Boris Johnson asking him to back Wandsworth Council's decision to refuse planning application.
