I would like to take this opportunity to extend best wishes to all of you over the Christmas holidays.
For those of us who are lucky, it's a time to reflect on the year that has passed whilst surrounded by our loved ones. But there are many who will be missing family and friends this Christmas. I'd like to thank, in advance, all of the emergency services workers who will be carrying on over Christmas and New Year to keep us safe and care for us. My thoughts are also with all those who have family members and friends serving in our armed forces abroad, in Afghanistan and around the world, and I hope for their safe return in the New Year.
It's been a tough year for many, and there are difficult times ahead. I promise to carry on working hard to represent local residents, and repay the support that so many of you have shown towards me in the past 12 months.
