Sadiq joined celebs and fellow MPs in swapping their suits for running gear and completing the ‘Westminster Mile’ last week, in support of Sport Relief 2012.

Sadiq, who regularly runs and plays football on Tooting Common, went head-to-head with over forty MPs and Peers to encourage the public to take part in the Sport Relief Mile on Sunday 25th March.

MPs were also joined by one of the UK's most successful Paralympians, Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson DBE, and TV presenter and dancer Arlene Phillips.

More than one million men, women and children are expected to participate in the Sport Relief Mile by the end of the Sport Relief Weekend, Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th March. The money raised will support people living in poverty, in the UK and in some of the world’s poorest countries.

Sadiq, who ran the mile in a quick 6 mins 45 seconds said: “I am delighted to have taken part in the Sport Relief Mile - I might not be the quickest MP, but I'm happy with my time.

“As we count down to the Olympics in London this year, there’s no better time to sign up to the Sport Relief Weekend and raise money for a great cause through sport.”
