On Friday I joined Rt Hon Ed Miliband MP as a keynote listener at the Transition Town Conference at Battersea Arts Centre. We both had a brilliant afternoon joining in with the roundtable discussions and hearing the creative responses the Transitioners were coming up with to our future energy needs and potential problems.
It was a real multimedia event, with lots of hands-on stuff for people to do. I got took part in an interview with Carl Munson at Transition Radio (External link: listen here) and also found time to record a few videos and get some photos of the event (see below).
Transition Towns explore how people address the twin challenges of climate change and energy use, with an emphasis on focusing on localisation and the reduction of carbon emissions. I'm a big fan of the work Transition Town Tooting do and regularly attend events (including their excellent 'Foodival' last October - highly recommended!).
