Reverend Hugh Grear, of Holy Trinity Church & St Augustine’s Church, and Stella Davey, an Emergency Department nurse at St George’s, both accompanied Sadiq Khan MP to Number 10 Downing Street where their contribution to the local community at Christmas was recognised by the Prime Minister.
While we are all with our families on Christmas Day, eating Christmas dinner and enjoying our presents, Reverend Hugh Grear and Sister Stella Davey will be working, helping others in Tooting. Reverend Hugh Gear has spent every Christmas day since he was ordained working for the local community from St Augustine’s Church on Broadwater Road and Holy Trinity on Trinity Road. As the work in St George’s Emergency Department does not change because of Christmas Day, Stella Davey, who is a Senior Emergency Department Nurse, has worked numerous Christmases’ to ensure that patients receive a high quality of care. Sadiq Khan MP said “I would like to pay tribute to Stella and Hugh, who both work so hard to make Christmas special for everyone else. Thank you both for all of your hard work.” |
